Whether you are planning a family holiday, a golfing break or a peaceful escape in the Spanish sunshine, Ciudad Quesada is an excellent base from which to discover the region.

Welcome to Ciudad Quesada

Ciudad Quesada is a popular residential and holiday destination within the municipality of Rojales on Spain’s southern Costa Blanca.

Established during the 1970s, it has developed into a thriving international community with a relaxed atmosphere and an excellent range of everyday amenities. It is particularly popular with families, couples, golfers and visitors planning a longer stay in Spain.

Unlike a purely seasonal resort, Ciudad Quesada has supermarkets, shops, restaurants, cafés, bars, pharmacies and other useful services available throughout most of the year.

The surrounding landscape combines residential areas with citrus groves, salt lagoons, golf courses and distant mountain views. Although the Mediterranean coast is only a short drive away, guests can return from the busier beach resorts to the privacy and peaceful surroundings of their own villa.

Shops and Everyday Amenities

You can find most holiday essentials without travelling far. Ciudad Quesada has several supermarkets and smaller shops selling fresh food, drinks, and everyday supplies, along with bakeries, pharmacies, banks, and other useful services.

The main street through Quesada contains numerous shops, cafés and restaurants, with additional amenities around Doña Pepa and La Marquesa Golf.

Traditional markets are held in nearby towns on different days of the week. These are enjoyable places to browse clothing, household goods, local produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, and Spanish specialities.

For larger shopping centres and a wider choice of stores, visitors can travel towards Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa, Elche or Alicante.

Bars and Restaurants

Ciudad Quesada has an impressive variety of places to eat and drink. Its international community is reflected in the choice of Spanish, Mediterranean, Italian, Indian, Chinese and British food available locally.

You can enjoy everything from coffee and a light breakfast to tapas, pizza, fresh seafood or a special evening meal. Many establishments have outdoor terraces, while local bars may also offer live music, quizzes, televised sport and seasonal entertainment.

Nearby Rojales, Benijófar and Guardamar provide even more options. Guardamar is particularly enjoyable in the evening, when you can combine a walk beside the sea with dinner close to the promenade.

Discover Traditional Rojales

Ciudad Quesada forms part of the municipality of Rojales, a traditional Spanish town situated beside the River Segura.

Rojales offers an interesting contrast to Quesada’s newer residential areas. Visitors can explore its streets, local shops and historic features while experiencing a more traditional side of life in the Vega Baja region.

One of its best-known attractions is the Cuevas del Rodeo. These former cave dwellings have been transformed into workshops, galleries and cultural spaces used by local artists and craftspeople. Events and craft markets are also held there at selected times.

Enjoy the Beaches of Guardamar

The beautiful beaches of Guardamar del Segura are within easy driving distance of the villa. Guardamar is known for its long stretches of fine sand, natural dunes and attractive coastline.

Families can choose between central beaches with nearby cafés and facilities or quieter sections backed by natural scenery. Playa Centro is close to the town and promenade, making it a convenient choice for a traditional day beside the sea.

The nearby pine forest and dunes make Guardamar particularly distinctive. Shaded paths through the trees provide a pleasant place to walk before or after visiting the beach.

Always watch the beach safety flags and follow instructions from local lifeguards.

Golf in and Around Ciudad Quesada
